How I spent my November and December!!!!

So this year Ben and I decided to make all of our Christmas gifts. Ben made CDs for all of the guys in his family and I made gifts for all of the girls and for everyone in my family. Ben made a CD of Superhero theme songs for John, for Nick and James he made a CD of songs from old records that they use to listen to when they where little and for Phil and Bruce he remade an old CD of train songs that he had made a long time ago from old records. I finished almost all of my projects except for 3 blankets: my mom's, my brother's girlfriends and my brother and sister in laws! Anyways it took awhile but yeah I have posted the pictures after the cut!!!

The knitting needle case for Genny. I need to work on my bias application... but I think it turned out alright.

The Chocolate Covered Brazil Nuts I made for my dad and the paint can I decorated to put them in.

The marble magnets I made for my cousin. I also made a set for my Aunt and Uncle. I made a different set for my brother's girlfriend to open since I didn't finish her blanket... it had pictures of my nephew. Unfortunately the picture I took of them sucked but you get the idea.

The baby blocks I made for my newest cousin Carson... I put bells in them so they jingled. I actually have someone requesting I make some for a friend of theirs for a baby shower gift. Now I just need to figure out how much to charge for them... any ideas?

My mom and I made a bunch of Christmas mice for our co-workers... they were a big hit and no one wanted to eat theirs. Ben said they were delicious... he ate all the rejects.

I hand sewed this baby doll for a little girl whos name I drew off the hope tree at work... I hope she liked it. Oh and yes she is supposed to be pigeoned toed!

The dog treat bag I made for Helene! She was really thrilled with it and was excited about all of the stuff that she could put in it.


I also made one for my Uncle Dave for his dog Gretchen.


My cousins Allison and Tyler got a coloring wallet. They were big hits I knew that Allison would like hers I didn't expect Tyler to like his as much as he did!!! Once again I was told by his mom and grandma that I need to start selling my creations!!!

I made this neck pillow for my grandma because she loves hummingbirds and is always using her neck pillow. Let me just tell you filling up one of these with the little foam beads is not a fun experience!!! It is quite interesting if you have a TV that is on nearby... I'm pretty sure mine is still covered in tiny white dots :)

So yeah that is all of it... I'm taking a week off of sewing... it has been hard too since my mother-in-law bought me a new sewing machine for Christmas but I think I would have gone insane if I hadn't!!!

So as many of you know my mom makes cakes as her hobby. Well I'm trying to get her a little more business because what most of you don't know my mom is wanting to try to help my brother, his girlfriend and their son out. Brian started chemo today and will continue it until the week before Christmas and if that isn't bad enough is one of many here in Boise that is more then likely going to lose his job since he works at Micron. So basically if you know anyone that is looking for a cake to be made... wedding, birthday, baby shower etc... let me know and I can give you more of information. I will be putting together business cards, postcards and flyers along with a portfolio for her... hopefully soon. Like I said I'm just trying to help her out so she can hopefully help my brother out... if you don't know anyone who needs a cake can you do me a favor and just send happy thoughts in my brother's direction... he really needs it now. School crap

So I've paid my outrageously expensive tuition for class... $980 for ONE Biology class and ONE lab!!! I have also purchased my books which weren't too expensive and emailed the professor to see if we will be having class on the 30th since that is Labor day weekend. Now all I have to do is convince myself to get out of bed every Saturday morning at 7:00 to get to class by 8:00. I'm not sure if that is going to happen or not!!!

Finished Baby Blanket

So I finally finished the baby blanket that I was making for my cousin. It turned out ok for my first attempt at a blanket. I just hope they like it. I posted the pictures after the cut... I took them with my camera phone so the color isn't the best but oh well.

It is kind of blurry but you get the idea.

Here is a close up of the C. They are naming the baby Carson.

So yep there it is in all it yarny goodness :) I'm nervous for Saturday when the shower is and to see what they think.

So anyone that truly knows me knows that I have an unexplainable fear of non-normal looking eyes i.e. black eyes, completely crusted over eyes (Simpsons episode did that one to me) etc. or things happening to eyes like... needles going into eyes and other things. I bring this fear up because as I was just doodling at the front desk this afternoon I started drawing something that I forgot I use to draw constantly when I was growing up... it stopped about the time I met Ben (no clue why) but I started thinking and trying to figure out why I would draw things like this...

with the fear that I have?

Eyes in general have always been my favorite things to draw... I was always told that I always captured the eyes perfectly when I was doing a portrait. I love the detail in eyes but if I have a fear of non-normal looking eyes why would that be?

Anyone have any ideas?

so I found out yesterday that I have 3 weeks to finish the baby blanket for my cousin's new baby. He isn't due until September but they are doing the baby shower on the 22 of June!!! I have to finish up the last green square and then make 2 more blue squares then embroider the C on to the center square and whip-stitch it all together... did I mention that I have no idea how to do the last two things!!! Oh and I have to get it washed so it is all nice and clean for the baby. I'm feeling a little stressed luckily I got 3 squares done this weekend while relaxing up at the cabin so that is good. Anyways I guess for the next 3 weeks I'm going to be knitting and trying to figure out how to embroider the C on the blanket and then learn to whip-stitch.

Anyways besides that I had a good weekend up at the cabin... Jo, Bruce and James ended up coming up also... Harvey had a blast up there exploring and playing (he was spoiled) Squeaker ended up hiding most of the time... she was pissed that we brought Harvey along. When she did finally come out she was played with alot which made her happy. We got home Monday right as the rain storm hit. The cats slept for the rest of the night... they got tuckered out. So yeah that was my weekend.

So I met with an academic adviser today at BSU and have been reinstated!!! I can now register for classes. Now I just need to find time to take classes. The guy I met with was interesting... he is name is Gaylord Walls and on all his books it says The Lord's. I thought that was kind of funny. He's pretty cool... unfortunately he is retiring in June so I will have to get a new adviser then but oh well. I'm just happy that I can go back to school. I will make this work this time and I will get my degree!!!

So I am thinking that I might want to start selling Scentsy candles... and before you ask write_as_raynne NO Robyn didn't talk me into it she didn't even suggest it and NO I'm not going to push it on people like she does!!! I am just thinking about doing it as a way to get a little extra money... I would just make a website and let people know I am selling it. I'm not really interested in doing parties and crap like that unless asked to. I'm more interested in online orders and catalog orders. What do you guys think? The starter kit is only 100 dollars so that's not too bad.

Ben is doing work for Bodybuilding.com that is bringing in extra money so I think I should do something too.

I just need some honest thoughts would it be worth it... would any of you guys even be remotely interested in purchasing the products if I did sell it... I'm just testing the waters. Oh and yes I did try to sell PartyLite before but they were more demanding about what you had to do and how much money you made them... this seems different. I don't know. What do you think? I just figured you guys would be honest with me so I thought I would ask.

their favorite colors are Green, Blue, Purple and Blue again. Now I must decide what two shades of blue to use... and then to figure out how to make it look like it's not dominated by blue (which it will be) incase they have a girl. Hmmmm... any ideas people?
It is more then likely going to end up looking like the example... but with 4 colors... which might make it trickier... since it might have to be 12 squares instead of 9.

Baby Blanket Knitting Project

So after considering the advice from

write_as_raynneabout not waiting until they decide what colors to do the baby's room and just go with nontraditional colors, I have decided to use my cousin's, her husband's and her two children's favorite colors. I thought it would symbolize the family that the baby is being born into. I have bounced this idea off eveoferinand idahoasian... because at first I thought it might be kind of corny but they don't think so. They have been my knitting question answers lately... hopefully they aren't sick and tired of me and ready to kill me... because I will need their help learning how to do this blanket. Thank you girls for all your help.

What do you all think about the idea? I just hope that they don't have really ugly favorite colors.

by the knitting bug!!! So I finally finished my first knitting project... granted I started it during Lonestar while sitting in the booth... but I finally got the impulse to finish it... ta da...

Now I can't stop... I'm working a blanket that will be 8" by 8" squares while using 2 colors of yarn at a time. I would like it to be 5' by 4' or 5' not sure yet. Here is what I have started:

Yeah I know I have a long way to go but I figured a square a day it should only take a few months... :{

Then I want to make this blanket for my cousin who is having a baby in September... I keep thinking I might be crazy to even try this but oh well.

I have to wait and find out what colors they are going to do the baby's room so I'm a little worried that I won't find that out in time to finish it because who knows when they will decide.

Anyways so yeah that is what is happening with me... I'll try to post more pictures as I get further along if people are interested in seeing how it is coming.

my husband can't answer what is more important to him... our marriage or theater? It's really making me depressed that he can't answer that question... he doesn't even try to... he just apologizes and leaves the room. He has told me theater is who he is but why can't I be a part of that... shouldn't our marriage be more important. He won't apply for certain jobs because it possibly could interfer with theater... when we can't afford to buy food and are living off whatever we can find. I just don't know what to do anymore.

So things are better now with the person who was saying mean things about me on their live journal. She apologized and deleted her site... which I didn't ask her to do but she chose to so that no one else can read what she said. I am doing better still a little hurt but oh well what you gonna do.

Other then that things with me are better I have a kick ass job at MWI as a Receptionist. I get to work 10-7 so I will take classes in the morning which is good because most of the classes I need to get my General Business Degree are offered in the morning.

Anyways hope all is well with all of you people and thanks for the support during my depression period! Love you all.

I found out last night if you ever want to know what friends really think of you and the nicknames they give you behind your back read their livejournal entries from before they added you as a friend. It is kinda depressing. Makes you wonder how they feel about you now. Do I just ask them or do I just keep thinking the feel the same way now as they did back then? What do you think?

So my new job lasted 2 weeks. I quit. The trainer was a Bitch and they said I couldn't go back to school since all the overtime will keep me at work late into the evening. I was done when they mentioned that. Back to searching for a job.

It finally happened... I got a new job!!!! No more night auditor at the hotel!!! I am so excited. I start Monday... it is an 8-5 M-F job so Ben and I are on the same schedule finally. I am going to be a data processor for a ESP Printing and Mailing Inc here in Boise. Another cool thing is that I can walk to work everyday it is only 2 miles away just down the hill.
